London goes Tango

On 19th July the Embassy celebrated the ninth edition of London Goes Tango on the banks of the River Thames, an event that has already become a tradition in the local tango calendar.

Between 1pm and 10pm over 2,000 people gathered on the open-air stage next to the London City Hall building a few steps away from the renowned Tower Bridge to enjoy an afternoon of tango with live music, dance demonstrations, classes and milonga.

Tango is part of our identity, it is our most emblematic and recognised dance. And it is with pride that we use this festival on the banks of the River Thames to share it with citizens from all over the world.

The attendees, both Argentine and British, and tourists, enjoyed the live music of Argentine bandoneon player @Carlos_Quilici , and tango singer Juan Presedo @pibedeflores together with the guitarist Oscar Acebras .

Five different academies and milongas from the United Kingdom gave demonstrations and classes to couples who attended the event to take their first dance steps.
